Originally
trained as a journalist, I am a freelance public relations consultant with 21 years
experience across all types of roles from in-house, to agency and then to freelance
in 2004.
Wide range of expertise
This background, combined with a wide range of clients, has enabled me to develop skills
and expertise in PR in its widest sense. From facilitating high level debates for
a client’s key stakeholders, through to coordinating Ministerial visits, producing
an employee magazine and running consultation programmes with local communities,
my approach is the same – determined and results-driven.
Working in partnership
At heart, I guess I am an in-house personality, so as a freelancer, I deliver the
best quality results when I am well and truly under the skin of the organisation
I am working for. This can be demonstrated clearly through my long (15 years) and
effective partnership with one particular client.
Adaptable yet focused
One of my key skills is my ability to adapt to ensure I can deliver on a PR brief. I
am equally at home volunteering to help out at a client’s site open day or training
a chief executive to ensure he delivers clear messages about his organisation in
an effective way. Always with my focus on the bigger picture of an organisation’s
overall goals and priorities, I aim to make a significant contribution whatever
shape the communications programme may take.
